Pete Desjardins, Managing Partner
Pete Desjardins’ career spans over 30 years of professional experience with Fortune 500 companies including Procter and Gamble, Mobil Chemical and Pactiv Corporation, where he has built a broad portfolio of executive experience in sales, marketing, supply chain management, product and business development. Pete’s operational experience has ranged from leading large scale ERP implementations to strategy and corporate development for technology startup companies.
Prior to Execullence, Pete founded YOEX, LLC, a firm that conducts business development activity on behalf of technology companies. Since 2003, YOEX has served software and services companies in their pursuit to build revenue and business value through enterprise strategy development, capitalization, go-to-market plans, alliance partnerships, executive roundtables, lead generation and sales/account management.
Pete received his BS degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and his MBA degree from Miami University in Oxford, OH.
Mark Rangell, Managing Partner
Mark Rangell’s career spans over 30 years of executive leadership in the healthcare and information technology industries, with primary experience in strategy, marketing, business development and product management across all phases of business maturity from startup operations through established business units.
Prior to Execullence, Mark co-founded and served as President of Applied Pathways, a healthcare software company serving the provider and payer communities. In his prior healthcare strategy firm, Mark served as interim COO for a leading home healthcare solutions provider and a venture-backed medical diagnostics company. He also co-founded and served as EVP of Quovadx, provider of software and services for enterprise application integration, claims and quality management to worldwide customers across the healthcare continuum, and has held senior positions in marketing and product management with Thomson Healthcare, Novartis and IBM.
Mark received his BS degree from NYU and his MS degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Bob Merold, Managing Director
Bob Merold’s career spans over 30 years in health care informatics leadership, ranging from Fortune 500 companies Procter & Gamble, Bristol-Myers Squibb and IMS Health to venture-backed startups. He has deep expertise in general management, product management, marketing and new business development.
After a decade in executive positions at P&G and BMS, Bob spent the next decade as Global SVP of Product for IMS Health, where he developed and led their flagship Xponent prescription data product along with overseeing global strategy for their CRM business. He then shifted to the startup world, running both a genomic startup, followed by one of the first commercial efforts in healthcare NLP data mining space.
For most of the past 15 years, he has been a retained consultant to healthcare VC and PE firms, helping them and their portfolio companies identify and execute new business opportunities, and serving on three corporate Boards. Recently, he concluded a two year assignment as Chief of Strategic Initiatives for ASCO’s big data rapid learning system, CancerLinQ, which he helped lead to a successful external strategic partnership.
Bob received his BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
Dale Schuster, Managing Director
Dale Schuster’s career spans over 35 years of executive leadership in the software, information technology, energy, and medical device industries. He is primarily focused on global business development, business and project turnarounds, product development, marketing and general management.
Prior to joining Execullence, Dale served as President of SteriTec Products, Inc., a global medical device company focused on the design and development of monitoring products for the medical and canning industries. While at SteriTec, Dale oversaw an extended period of significant global growth, resulting in the successful sale of the business to Getinge Group, a global product and systems provider to the healthcare and life sciences market. Since 2012, Dale continued his multi-year track record of leadership, growth and profitability within the Surgical Workflow segment of the business.
Prior to Getinge, Dale served in executive positions with TeleTech, InaCom, SITEL and CalEnergy. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Leevers Supermarkets.
Dale received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of South Dakota.
Shari Rangell, Data Analyst
Shari is a seasoned IT professional with over 30 years of progressive functional, technical and business analysis experience across public and private sectors. Her key skills in systems management, data analysis, project management and software development have been developed across a wide range of organizations, including large established enterprises, high-growth startups and IT consulting firms. At Execullence, Shari leads our efforts in data management and analysis used in the creation and optimization of go-to-market plans on behalf of our clients.
Prior to Execullence, Shari served as an Oracle ERP Implementation Consultant and Project Lead for Deloitte Consulting, where she served clients in the financial services, higher education, aerospace and defense sectors. She previously served as a Senior Systems Analyst for Lake County Illinois, a Senior Applications DBA for Quovadx, Inc. and held various roles across system engineering, marketing and product development for IBM.
Shari received her BS degree in Computer and Information Science from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
Don Turner, Executive in Residence
Don Turner is a multi-industry, multi-functional executive who has successfully dealt with the most difficult business problems facing investors, boards and CEOs for over 30 years. Don has a demonstrable track record in addressing a broad range of business issues ranging from “troubled company” turnaround to “healthy company” new product/market/channel foray.
In addition to his strategy development roles, he has been CEO of multiple privately held companies, Group President for a public company, and Chief Strategy Officer for a billion‐dollar company with a successful IPO. He is the developer of the VOGI® strategy methodology to unify the Vision, Objectives, Goals and Initiatives within organizations undergoing transformation. This model, the underpinning for Execullence Strategy Accelerator, has successfully been adopted in dozens of companies as a means to ensure effective and efficient linkage between the strategic and the tactical, the visionary and the reality. These companies have enjoyed impressive results, and in many cases, have transformed entire industries.
Don received his MBA in Operations Strategy and Management from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.
